Mattress Discounter opened in 1986 at it’s current location 4401 NE 14th St. In Des Moines, Iowa. We are a family-owned business with hometown values.

We have a large warehouse with a spacious updated showroom area where you can comfortably lie down and try out the different models on display. We stock major name brand mattresses in all sizes and comfort levels so you can take your purchase with you right away ! We also provide a fast, friendly local delivery service if needed.

Our building is older but very nice inside and our “no frills, no waste” business philosophy allows us to have a much lower overhead and provide very competive lower prices everyday!

We also stock a large selection of headboards, bed frames, chests, dressers, mattress protectors along with our brand name new mattresses!

The “next generation” has taken over at mattress discounter and the traditions of great selections, prices and service continues on!

Over the years I have frequented MD quite a few times. I have always appreciated the customer service and experience I receive when visiting. I went in to upgrade to some new mattresses recently and once again received nothing but exceptional service. I always recommend MD and will continue to return. Great people, service, and mattress selection.  Delivery was same day and on time.  We live in a 2-story home with bedrooms located upstairs and were very pleased with the extra care they took not to nick walls or staircase. Each time I've shopped at Mattress Discounters they have been very friendly and knowledgeable, but not overbearing or overselling. Every time I've made purchases I got a great deal!
